Editorial fall portraits with Alexa

In between the busy seasons for my year I love to squeeze in creative portraits when I can. I love to try out new concepts that can help me market towards my ideal clients. When I reached out to Alexa I told her a few of the concepts I wanted to try in the studio. We had a blast working with the neautral tones & focused on the posing and expressions. Creating the black ferns hanging from the ceiling took some time but it was such a fun tool to use. I used fishing line tied to the fern and hung it from my ceiling with pushpins. I varied the space & depth where I hung them to give her plenty of options for posing with it. Next we used some natural florals to bring in the calm ethereal vibes. We also used a piece of plexi glass with paint on it to shoot through. Plexi glass is one of those tools that is so versatile & easy to obtain. You can either go to Lowes or simply buy a cheap piece of art from goodwill & just use the front plexi part to shoot with. You can paint, put gold foil, apply water or baby oils, the list is endless. I love coming up with different ways to have portraits be interesting and fun. If you are looking to get unique headshots or a lifestyle session I’d love to chat with you! Submit a contact form and let’s have a fun shoot together.
