A portrait of Poet Joekenneth Museau at the NYC Occulus

devin anding July 28, 2019

This blog is long overdue but alas I have finally put these images up! I went to New York City in April of this year. A little over 9 years ago I lived in Bushwick, Brooklyn. While I lived there I met Joekenneth. Since I last saw him he has gone through some huge life changes with the passing of his mother and finding his wife Sara. His career is really taking off and I am so stoked for everything he has been able to accomplish. It was a pleasure getting to create content with him. The occulus didn’t exist when I lived in NYC so I was excited to work with the beautiful sweeping lines of the building. We shot inside and then braved the heavy rain for some images outside. We needed the shoot with a well deserved lunch from the food trucks lined up. New York is really an inspiring place to shoot but it’s even better with artists like Joekenneth.
