Facetime Photo shoot with model during Covid-19 quarantine

devin anding April 21, 2020

So I am often inspired by other photographers around the world. When faced with the fact that shooting with models was not really a good idea at this time I found something to try. I saw a photographer in Italy shoot over FaceTime with someone by screen shots. I messaged Tierney and went through the same steps I usually do with models by going over clothing options and locations in her house to use. While shooting it took even more communication than normal. Usually I can move my camera to adjust the view and angles, but with this scenario I had to have her move the phone or laptop several times. The other factor that I did not anticipate was the connection for the video call. There were some moments where the connection could make the image fuzzy so that’s something to consider if I try it again. Overall I am really stoked with the collaboration and hope to try it again soon.
